Making a Design of Sleigh

This week we are planning to design a sleigh.

First we make a design of sleigh. After we finished the design, we label them to tell which material we are using.

Then we need to make a copy of procedure and we write the materials we need. We write how to make a sleigh using the materials that we choose and we put the end result of what it will look like.

At the end I enjoy doing this, because I like it.

 

Prototypes

This week we learned about prototypes.

First we watched a video about prototypes. A prototype is an simple model before actually designing it.

Then we create a DLO to explain what a prototype is.

At the end I enjoy doing this, because I like it. I did well at making DLO, I need to improve on explaining it more properly.

 

Ice Melt Experiment

This week we learned about ice experiment.

First we need to get into groups of four or five. We need one computer to write and 2 people to get the plante and ice. One ice has salt on it, one ice was covered with foil and one ice that has nothing on it. After that we need to time it.

Then going to predict which one will melt the fastest. We need to answer the rest of the questions. We also need to write what is happening with the ice.

At the end I enjoy doing this, because I liked it.

This term for Inquiry we are learning about Kitchen Chemistry.  This week we focused on scientists and what they do.  First we went to the jamboard and answered some questions about scientists.

We talked about 5 different scientists and had to choose one of them to create an infographic poster of.  I chose to research Rosalind Franklin.

At the end I enjoy doing this task, because I like it.

What the World Eats

This week we compared and contrasted two different countries’ groceries from Peter Menzel’s photography book “What the world eats.”

First we choose 2 pictures. We also need to write their difference and the similarities.

Next we go to the slides, put the pictures on there and go to Google Map to find the 2 countries and take pictures.

Then we tell the reasons why they are different and same.

At the end I enjoy doing this, because I like it.

5 Food groups

This week we learned about 5 Food groups.

First we watch a video about 5 Food groups. They are proteins, dairys, grains, vegetables and fruits.

Then we need to make a DLO to explain them.

At the end I enjoy doing this.  Because I like it.  I did well at making DLO. I need to improve on remembering the foods groups.

Water filtration

This week we learned water filtration.

First we put some pictures of sand and rock on the top.Then the sand and the cotton.We can decide the order.

Then we label and give the reason why we put them in that order.After we done that we need to give predict.Predict is means to think what will happen.Even if you don’t guess the right answer, it’s still predict.

At the end I enjoy doing this.Because I like it.

 

Water Cycle

This week we learned about the water cycle.

First we learned about what water can change into and what happens after it changes.Water can change into solid, liquid and a gas.When water changes into solid, it is called ice.When water is changed into liquid it is still called water.When water change into gas it is called gas/steam.

Next we talked about how  you make the water change.For example when you freeze the water it will change into ice. After we answer all of the questions,we did a  water cycle chart,we needed to lable it. The water cycle is the path that all water follows as it moves around Earth in different states. Liquid water is found in oceans, rivers, lakes—and even underground. Solid ice is found in glaciers, snow, and at the North and South Poles. Water vapor—a gas—is found in Earth’s atmosphere.

At the end I enjoy doing this because I enjoyed learning about the differewnt stages of the water cycle.

Waitangi

This week we learned Waitangi.

First we do the Waitangi.We think think a person that in the Waitangi.I remember William Colenso.

Then we at a sheet of page to answer some queastions and ask some queastions and write facts about him.For example I ask a about is the U.K/British still stronger than NZ.

At the end I enjoy doing this.Because it’s interesting.
