Moment in Time Poem

LI: To write a poem that describes as a moment in time.

We watched a video about polar bear as a “moment in time” poem. Moment in time poem tells what has happened in different feelings. These feelings are heard, saw, felt, and wonder. This moment in time poem was about a researcher who got traped in a cube because of a vicious polar bear. An example of  what I heard in the video is I heard the crashing of a hungry large fierce bear pounding on the roof of the vehicle. 

I found this activity is interesting, because I learned way of writing a poem.

Formal Letters

This week we learned about formal letters. A formal letters could be used in jobs or writing something that is important to someone.

First we had a practiced about formal letters. Every person has a letter, we need to highlight the things that need to be in the formal letters. A formal letters must need to have address, date, greeting, paragraphs, closing of the letter, signature and job (optional ).

Next we have a letter that is mixed. We get in a groups of 4 and if a group was the first one finished and it was right, they win.

Then we write a formal letters about PBS gala to Miss Tele’a.

At the end I enjoy doing this, because I like it.

 

Describing Poem

This week we learned about describing poems.

First we choose one of our favourite food as a poem, we put the food name on the top and the bottom. At the other line we use some adjective words to describe the food we choose.

Then we need to do another poem about our second favourite food.

At the end I enjoy doing this, because I like it. I did well at writing poems. I need to improve on working faster.

 

 

Emotive Language

This week we learned about emotive language. Emotive language means using a word to make someone feel a strong emotion.

First we get into groups of three or four.We search emotive language and get a piece of paper and write on it.

Then we need to make a DLO and put some examples on it.

At the end I enjoy doing this, because I like it.

 

Procedural Writing 2

This week we practiced procedural writing. The procedural feature is TEMPS.

First we go to the slides writing answers to the questions. We put TEMPS in order. T for title, E for end result, M for materials, P for picture, S for steps.

Then we need to make a DLO.

At the end I enjoy doing this, because I like it. I did well making DLO. I need to improve remembering the order.

 

Practice writing poem

This week we practiced writing a poem.

First we talked about what is the perfect rhyme. Perfect rhyme is at the end of the words that sounds the same. For example cat and bat, at the end they all have the same sound and at the back they all have “at”.

Then we need to write a poem using perfect rhyme. I use “ing” and we also need to put images that include a poem in there.

At the end I enjoyed doing this, because I learnt about rhyming words and how to put them together to make a cool poem. I did well at writing this poem. I need to inprove on writing poem with “ing” at the end.

 

Poem Types

This week we learned poem types.

First we go on our poem types.It has Assonance,  Consonance, Alliteration and Perfect Rhyme.

Then we go on the “Rhyme Poems”and put the picture with words and meaning in the same place. For example, assonance means using repeated vowel sounds in words that are close to each other.

At the end I enjoy doing this.Because I like it.  I need to improve on remembering these words meaning.

Typing

This week I doing typing.

First I go to the typing.The typing will tell you how to tap the alphabet correctly.I was doing level one.

Then it will give you a warm up and the word that you need to typ. If you complete this one,it will sing a song.

At the end I enjoy doing this.Because I like it.I did well at doing this.I need to inprove on typing.

Recount

This week we write a recount.

First we talk about what is recount, a recount is the things the happened in the past. It needs including title, reveal, event and ending.

Then we write a recount about our favourite things that we do in the past.We need to plan it on the book first and recount it.

At the end I enjoy doing this.Cause it make me remember some happy things.
