What is a Catapult and How it works

For this task we learned how a catapult works and what it is. The Catapult was invented by Dionysius the Elder of Syracuse. It was invented about 400 BCE. Catapults were used for war and to shoot rocks, spears and hot tar to break down the castles and cities. There are many different types of catapult, here are the main 3 catapults, they are are Trebuchet, Mangonel and Ballista. After we learnt about the catapults, we had to build our own catapult. We had to use newspaper and tape to build one. When each group finished their own catapult. We test it out how far can it throw.

I found this activity enjoyable because I learned some new things about catapults and it was entertaining how we were testing out our catapult.
