This week we learned about ice experiment.
First we need to get into groups of four or five. We need one computer to write and 2 people to get the plante and ice. One ice has salt on it, one ice was covered with foil and one ice that has nothing on it. After that we need to time it.
Then going to predict which one will melt the fastest. We need to answer the rest of the questions. We also need to write what is happening with the ice.
At the end I enjoy doing this, because I liked it.
This week we learned about stopmotion car Google slides animation. Before we did that we went to the Google meet and answered some questions from the quiz.
Then we need to do an animation using cars.We slowly move the picture from each slide to make it looks like a video. We need at least make 150 slides.
At the end I enjoy doing this, because I liked animating it.
This week we learned about being prepared for school.
First we need to create a poster about school uniform.We looked at some examples.
Then we need to draw our uniform. After that we need to label the thing that we need to have.
At the end I enjoy doing this, because I like it.
This week we learned about Google Meet etiquette with Miss Tele’a and Mr Goodwin.
First we learned some Google Meet symbols. After that we need go to the slide and put the name of the symbol into the right places.
Then we need to tell which pictures and symbols match the rules for Google Meets. We also needed to answer some questions and at the next slide we need put a picture of ourself on there.
At the end I enjoy doing this, because I like it.
This week we learned about being prepared for school.
First we went to the Jamboard and answered some questions.
Then we need to go to the DLO and draw the thing that we need to bring to the school.We also need to explain why we bring them.
At the end I enjoy doing this, because I like it. I did well at answering the questions at the Jamboard.I need to improve on giving more good reasons.
This week we learned about emotive language. Emotive language means using a word to make someone feel a strong emotion.
First we get into groups of three or four.We search emotive language and get a piece of paper and write on it.
Then we need to make a DLO and put some examples on it.
At the end I enjoy doing this, because I like it.
This week we learned about place value.
First we did a practice. We draw a “place value house ” and wrote numbers in the columns, so we can get the answer.
Then we did written algorithm. We need to write it on a paper and then take a screenshot of it.
At the end I enjoy doing this, because I like it.
This term for Inquiry we are learning about Kitchen Chemistry. This week we focused on scientists and what they do. First we went to the jamboard and answered some questions about scientists.
We talked about 5 different scientists and had to choose one of them to create an infographic poster of. I chose to research Rosalind Franklin.
At the end I enjoy doing this task, because I like it.
This week we learned about quality blog comments. Quality blog comments include positive, thoughtful and helpful.
First we do some practice.We use the colours to highlight them.For example yellow = greeting.Kia Ora Mr Goodwin is a greeting.So we highlight in yellow.
Then we go to the link and choose one of the blog and write our own comment.We also need to highlight them.
At the end I enjoy doing this, because I like it.
This week we learned about visualising.
First week we learned about visualising.Visualising means creating a picture in your mind by reading the story or the text.
Then we need to get in pairs, writing our own story and let the other one imagine a picture of it.I draw it on paper.
At the end I enjoy doing this. Because I like it.
